The reception of a presentation or publication often hinges on the quality of its diagrams, charts, and figures. In many cases, however, authors find themselves at a loss to produce visual examples of a quality that matches their scholarship. Although notation software has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years, complicated interfaces can be intimidating to the occasional user—if not outright unapproachable.
I am therefore pleased to offer my services in helping you prepare your work for presentation or publication. As a graduate student in music theory at the University of California, I've had first hand experience with conferences and the publication process. I know the caliber of work expected at this level of scholarship and would be delighted to provide you with stunning visual examples for your paper, article, book, or presentation.
I am available to help you through the process of preparing visual examples every step of the way, regardless of whether your working copies consist of hand-drawn notes or exist in a more fully-realized state. I can produce professional diagrams, tables, charts, and figures suitable for publication or presentation from any source. (Schenkerian analyses and other complex analytical graphs are a personal specialty!)
See below for several samples of work I've done in the past.
Many publishing houses require visual examples to be submitted in very specific formats. I am ready to work with you and your editor to meet these specifications in as efficient and timely a manner as possible. I work with both major musical notation software suites (Sibelius and Finale) and can realize any other type of diagram you can think up. I am capable of providing MIDI realizations of musical examples as well.
In certain circumstances, I will also be able to help with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and web design. Feel free to inquire for more details. My contact information appears to the right.
My rates are negotiable and I am willing to work out some kind of arrangement that will fit your budget. I typically charge $20 per hour worked and can provide estimates based on samples you send me.
